Job summary

The Capital Area Food Bank seeks a Nutrition Education Coordinator to develop and execute educational programming for our nutrition education team, with a focus on growing student engagement through field trips to our garden and teaching kitchen. Travel to DMV sites may be required to deliver nutrition education and food demonstrations.

Qualifications

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, public health or similar.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with diverse groups.
  • Experience developing school-based nutrition education programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute nutrition education programming for students and communities.
  • Grow and manage student engagement through garden visits and teaching kitchen events.
  • Travel to DMV sites for demonstrations and outreach as needed.
  • Assist with program evaluation, data collection, and reporting.
  • Support newsletters and inventory of education resources.
