Job summary

St Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs is seeking a Nutrition Assistant I to support healthcare foodservice operations and ensure efficient, safe dietary care for patients.

You will work with facility staff to deliver meals, assist with menu-based preparation, and maintain proper labeling, sanitation and portioning to meet dietary requirements. No prior experience is required; a High School Diploma or GED is preferred, and a Food Handler Permit may be required by local regulations.

Qualifications

• No experience required
• If a Food Handler Permit is a requirement by your state, county or local health code, you must obtain it within 30 days of hire or what is required by your state, county or local health code.

Responsibilities

• Follow healthcare foodservice standards, monitor temperatures, prevent cross-contamination, maintain hygiene and sanitation.
• Label and store food, equipment, and machinery according to guidelines.
• Prepare and serve food per menu and dietary needs, address allergy requests.
• Ensure high-quality customer experience through proper meal portioning and presentation.
• Perform cashiering, retail service, cold food prep, and patient tray assembly and delivery.
• Complete utility and maintenance tasks, dishwashing, catering support, inventory management, and area cleaning.
