Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Nutrition Assistant I to support healthcare foodservice operations and ensure efficient, safe dietary care for patients. You will collaborate with facility staff to deliver optimal nutrition and nutrition-related services to patients, guests, and staff.

Responsibilities include following foodservice standards, preparing and serving meals, cashiering, and maintaining cleanliness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• No experience necessary.
• If a Food Handler Permit is a requirement by your state, county or local health code, you must obtain it within 30 days of hire or what is required by your state, county or local health code.

Responsibilities

• Follow healthcare foodservice industry standards and regulations, including monitoring food temperatures, preventing cross-contamination, and adhering to strict personal hygiene and sanitation requirements.
• Maintain proper labeling and storage protocols for all food products, equipment, and machinery in accordance with facility guidelines.
• Prepare and serve food based on menu and dietary requirements, utilizing necessary kitchen equipment while remaining knowledgeable of ingredients to address food allergy requests.
• Ensure a high-quality customer experience by following organizational standards for proper meal portioning and aesthetically pleasing presentation.
• Perform essential operational tasks, including cashiering, retail service, cold food preparation, and the assembly, delivery, and retrieval of patient trays.
• Complete necessary utility and maintenance assignments, such as dishwashing, catering support, inventory management, and general cleaning of equipment and work areas.
