Job summary

Hayward Healthcare and Wellness Center seeks a dedicated dietary assistant to support meal preparation and delivery for residents in a regulated long-term care setting. You will follow physician orders, ensure timely service, and maintain cleanliness and safety standards.

Key duties include attending in-services, reporting issues to supervision, and collaborating with staff to deliver high-quality nutrition and patient care while presenting a professional image to residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand English for business necessity.
• Basic understanding of sanitation, organization and safety.
• Prior experience in food service preferred.
• Prior experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely preparation and delivery of nutritious meals and supplements to residents as ordered by physicians and in compliance with requirements.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Attend meetings and in-services as required.
• Report problems and needs to the supervisor in a timely manner.
• Promote teamwork and cooperation with other staff.
• Present a professional image to consumers and adhere to standards for resolving concerns; protect patient/resident rights.
