Job summary

Seneca Resources in New York is seeking an experienced Nutanix & VMware Infrastructure Engineer to design, administer, migrate, and support enterprise virtualization environments, focusing on Nutanix AHV and VMware workloads.

The role requires hands-on Nutanix clusters, migration planning, Windows and Linux server support, AD, backup, DR, monitoring, and scripting across PowerShell or Bash. Onsite 5 days/week in NYC; 12+ month engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT or related field.
• 5+ years IT infra, systems engineering, or enterprise support.
• Hands-on Nutanix administration and engineering experience.
• Experience deploying Nutanix AHV and migrations to VMware workloads.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Nutanix clusters and Nutanix AHV environments.
• Plan and execute VMware vSphere-to-Nutanix AHV migrations following best practices.
• Assess VMware environments and develop migration plans addressing workloads and dependencies.
• Design, implement, and support VMware vSphere and Nutanix environments.
• Troubleshoot hypervisor, VM, storage, networking, and performance issues.
• Perform hypervisor upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Administer Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Support Active Directory, Group Policy, backups, and DR processes.
• Monitor health, capacity, availability, and performance; address issues proactively.
• Develop automation scripts with PowerShell, Bash, KSH, Perl.
• Maintain technical documentation and participate in after-hours support.
