Job summary

Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY, seeks a Project Coordinator for the Nursing Workforce Development (NWD) Program. You will support the director in implementing HRSA-funded activities, recruit and retain project students, and oversee academic support services to ensure compliance with the grant work plan.

The role requires coordinating scholarships, data reporting, and collaboration with faculty, clinical partners, and school partners. Some evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Masters' preferred) from an accredited institution.
• Work experience in Nursing and/or higher education.
• Academic advising and/or student counseling experience.
• Understanding of student retention theory and needs of disadvantaged students.
• Proficiency in MS Office and email.
• Willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
• Experience coordinating grant-funded programs; HRSA or other federal grants preferred.
• Ability to collect, organize, and report program data, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day management of the Nursing Workforce Development program.
• Review and verify eligibility of all participants annually.
• Lead the recruitment of eligible program participants.
• Conduct information/orientation sessions for prospective participants.
• Coordinate and provide academic support services for project students; organize activities; oversee tutorials and mentoring.
• Monitor academic status of students and discuss progress with faculty.
• Maintain communication with project director and similar programs.
• Plan community outreach and recruitment events with local schools and organizations.
• Maintain student academic records and submit data to the Director promptly.
• Assist in preparation of institutional and federal reports.
• Coordinate activities per HRSA work plan and grant terms.
• Coordinate administration of participant scholarships and stipends; ensure HRSA compliance.
• Collect and maintain data for HRSA APR and federally designed evaluations.
• Track progress toward enrollment, retention, graduation, NCLEX licensure, employment.
• Monitor expenditures with grants offices; process payments per policy.
• Support recruitment and coordination of faculty, mentors and clinical preceptors; build partnerships with clinics and colleges.
• Schedule and document advisory committee/partner meetings; maintain program records for audits.
