Sign-On Bonus: MaineHealth is offering a $3,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates. The bonus is prorated for part-time hires, and per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth employees and those with less than 6 months separation are ineligible.

Position Summary

The Nursing Unit Secretary performs clerical, receptionist, and regulatory duties. This role involves advanced unit involvement in projects and house-wide activities. Candidates should possess excellent customer service and critical thinking skills, and be able to communicate effectively with team members, patients, and families.

This position offers a 32-hour workweek with four 8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including duties specific to Nursing Unit Secretary and Helper roles. Candidates must be flexible to occasional weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Current BLS certification preferred or may be required based on location.
  • One year of hospital or healthcare setting experience preferred.
