Job summary

Presbyterian Hospital's Neuro Specialty Care is hiring a Unit Secretary/Nursing Tech to perform secretarial and clerical duties while acting as a communication hub for the nursing unit. Responsibilities include basic patient care tasks under supervision and efficient unit communications.

The role may involve IV initiation, splinting, phlebotomy, wound care support, and PPE tied to nursing procedures in CDS Emergency Departments and PresNows as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Preferred: CNA/MA training or directly related patient care experience.
• On-the-job training with competency verification.
• Maintain current BLS and emergency response certifications.
• Complete department and organization competency training within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct customers; ensure accurate unit communication.
• Answer phones and route information to the right party.
• Monitor patients and document vital signs in the EMR.
• Inpatients care tasks including IV therapy lines (CDS/PresNows only) under supervision.
• Perform basic clerical duties: phones, messages, filing and copying.
• Support patient care activities and daily living assistance as directed.
