Job summary

The Sisters of St. Joseph Brentwood seek an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as Nursing Supervisor/Manager in our Health and Wellness program.

The role provides leadership, staff supervision, and coordination of compassionate nursing care for Sisters in Convent or Living with Assistance settings. Responsibilities include daily operations, staff development, and ensuring dignity, independence, safety, and spiritual well-being, with care tailored to each sister's preferences and goals.

Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse license and current registration.
• At least five years of nursing experience.
• 2+ years of nursing supervisory experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong nursing judgment and organizational skills.
• Ability to educate, mentor, coach, and evaluate staff.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, medication safety, infection prevention, and care planning.
• Effective communication in English (oral and written).
• Proficiency with computers, EHRs, medication records, and office apps.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and in-service education.
• Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible, consistent leadership reflecting the mission and values.
• Supervise assigned nurses and staff; coordinate staffing and coverage.
• Perform daily rounds, assessments, and individualized care plans.
• Coordinate provider communication, orders, and follow-up.
• Oversee medication administration, documentation, and safety.
• Lead nursing meetings and report operational concerns to leadership.
• Support emergency preparedness and staffing contingency planning.
• Maintain timely electronic documentation and nursing standards.
