Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during tour of duty.
• Assist in directing day-to-day nursing functions per rules and guidelines governing long-term care facilities.
• Participate in developing and updating facility policies and procedures for nursing service.
• Participate in the facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
• Perform administrative duties including reports, charting, and forms as necessary.
• Maintain communication with physicians, residents, families, and government agencies as required.
• Review discharge plans and assist in planning the nursing services portion of resident discharge plans.
