MAIN FUNCTIONS: The Administrative Supervisor is responsible for the clinical supervision of patient care and represents hospital management on the assigned shift to ensure the delivery of quality patient care.
WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS: Exposure to communicable diseases, blood and blood products, illness, confused and/or combative patients, hazardous chemicals, stressful situations, x-rays and fluoroscopy, sharp instruments and needles, electricity.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Includes standing, walking, lifting patients, pushing wheelchairs, recliner chairs, beds, stretchers. Occasionally must stoop, reach above head, carry medium to light equipment.
REPORTS TO: Chief Nursing Officer
CONTACTS: Administrators, Physicians, Department Heads, Hospital Staff, Patients, Families and Visitors.
SUPERVISES: All members of Nursing Staff on Assigned Shift
EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Baccalaureate degree preferred, Masters preferred.
EXPERIENCE: At least five years clinical experience, including at least one year supervisory experience.
LICENSURE/QUALIFICATIONS: Current license to practice professional nursing in NJ. CPR certification as per Hospital policy; IV certification as per Hospital policy. ACLS required, (or within 6 months of employment). Certification in Nursing Administration preferred
