Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Nursing Supervisor in Med/Surg at our Flower Mound, TX facility. You will oversee bedside nursing care, support staff, and promote evidence-based practice in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications include an Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred), RN license, 2+ years of RN leadership, and mandatory BCLS and CPI trainings. This full-time role offers growth and a collaborative team culture within a reputable health system.

Qualifications

• Two years of RN experience with prior leadership (Charge Nurse or similar) required.
• RN license required upon hire.
• BCLS certification required prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• CPI Training required within 90 days of hire and maintained annually.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Leadership and team to establish, implement, and monitor department policies and procedures, promote unit goals, and guide staff.
• Provides bedside leadership and clinical expertise to improve quality of patient care.
• Provides safe direct patient care in coordination with other staff when unit activity dictates.
• Offers guidance in emergency or complex situations.
• Uses proper handoff communication methods.
• Evaluates patient care outcomes, consults with the team, and adjusts nursing care to improve results.
• Assists with development and serves as a resource for new system and entity-based initiatives; supports sustainment of changes.

Here's What You Need

• Associate Degree in Nursing required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse with previous experience as a Charge Nurse or similar leadership role (i.e., Charge Nurse, Committee Chair, Preceptor) required
• Registered Nurse (RN) license required upon hire and
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly and
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Training required within ninety (90) days of hire and maintained annually
• A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Collaborates with Leadership, UBC, and appropriate team members to establish, implement, and monitor department policies/procedures, facilitate unit goals, evaluate and individualize patient care and provide direction to staff to promote quality outcomes.

. Provides bedside leadership and clinical expertise to improve quality of patient care.

. Provides safe direct patient care in coordination with other staff when unit activity dictates.

. Provide guidance in emergency or complex situations.

. Use appropriate methodology consistently for communication handoffs.

. Evaluates the outcome of patient care, consults with others on the patient care team, and adjusts nursing care processes as needed to improve outcomes.
