Job summary

University Hospitals Nursing Supervisor (PRN) role overseeing patient flow, staffing, and clinical operations across units including ED and surgical areas. Leads admissions planning, bed availability, and staffing changes to maximize throughput and patient care.

The position requires RN licensure in Ohio (or multi-state), BLS and ACLS, and at least 1 year of clinical nursing experience with preferred critical care or ED supervisory background. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required; BSN or MSN preferred.
• RN license Ohio or compact; BLS/ACLS required.
• 1+ year nursing experience; critical care/supervisory/ED experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages patient flow and coordinates staffing with charge nurse.
• Leads after-hours and weekend supervision in absence of administration.
• Conducts daily safety huddle and collaborates with the ED on overcrowding guidelines.
• Decides staffing moves for RNs, Sitters, CTA staff as needed.
• Assists ED during surges to improve patient flow and throughput.
• Ensures adequate staffing and manages sitter/restraint usage.
