Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Dallas is seeking a Nursing Supervisor for Labor and Delivery to lead staff, ensure policy adherence, and coordinate patient care during nights. The role emphasizes guiding clinical practice and promoting safety in a high-acuity unit.

The position requires RN licensure, current BCLS/NRP/IFM/ACLS/CPI credentials, and a track record in nurse leadership within Labor & Delivery. Join a team focused on family-centered care and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required from an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 2 years experience as a clinical nurse with leadership experience (charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor) required.
• Charge RN experience in Labor & Delivery highly preferred.
• RN - Registered Nurse required at hire.
• BCLS required prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• NRP required within 90 days of hire.
• IFM required within 90 days if experienced; 18 months if not.
• ACLS required within 90 days.
• NRPA required within 90 days.
• CPI training maintained annually.

• Collaborate with Leadership to establish, implement, and monitor department policies/procedures and provide direction to staff.
• Engage staff to promote evidence-based practices.
• Monitor KPIs and regulatory requirements for compliance.
• Provide bedside leadership and clinical expertise to improve quality of patient care.
• Provide safe direct patient care in coordination with other staff when unit activity dictates.
• Provide guidance in emergency or complex situations.
• Use effective handoffs and communication methods.

Work hours: Full Time- 36 hours; 7:00pm-7:00am with rotating weekends

Here’s What You Need

• Associate's Degree Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

• 2 Years experience as a clinical nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor) required

• Charge RN experience in Labor & Delivery highly preferred

• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required And

• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required AND

• NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days of hire AND

• IFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring if newly hired with experience in perinatal nursing AND never taken IFM 6 Months Req Or

• IFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring if no experience in perinatal nursing 18 Months

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within 90 days of hire AND

• NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days of hire

• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req

What You Will Do

• Collaborate with Leadership, UBC, and appropriate team members to establish, implement, and monitor department policies/procedures, facilitate unit goals, evaluate and individualize patient care and provide direction to staff to promote quality outcomes.

• In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Nursing Supervisor, Labor & Delivery will:

• Engage staff to promote evidence based practices within the unit.

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and regulatory requirements for compliance.

• Provide bedside leadership and clinical expertise to improve quality of patient care.

• Provide safe direct patient care in coordination with other staff when unit activity dictates.

• Provide guidance in emergency or complex situations.

• Use appropriate methodology consistently for communication handoffs.
