Job summary

Kindred Hospital San Diego, part of ScionHealth, is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to oversee nursing staff and ensure high-quality patient care. You will supervise, train, and evaluate staff, coordinate services, and maintain documentation in a hospital setting.

The role requires a registered nurse with BLS, two years of hospital nursing experience, and 1–2 years of supervisory leadership. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Description

Kindred Hospital San Diego is a 70-bed long-term acute care hospital offering the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. We partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week so you can start your journey to wellness. For those who need special care, we offer an eight-bed ICU and two negative pressure rooms. We are located just outside of downtown San Diego, less than two miles north of the San Diego Zoo.

Supervises nursing staff, assesses patients needs and provides nursing care for patients. Plans and organizes training for unit staff members and participates in guidance and educational programs.

Essential Functions

• Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates designated nursing staff; assigns duties and coordinates nursing services.
• Participates in developing nursing protocol and procedures.
• Provides continuing education and staff development opportunities for nursing staff.
• Assesses patient needs; participates in providing nursing care; ensures services are carried out and documented appropriately
• Maintains patient health care records.
• Maintains supply inventory records; orders supplies and equipment, as necessary.

Pay Range: $45.05-$57.13/hr.

Qualifications

Education

• Degree from an accredited school of nursing.

Licenses/Certifications

• Valid state Registered Nurse license.
• Valid BLS certification

Experience

• Two years of nursing experience in a hospital.
• 1 to 2 years supervisory/leadership experience
