Job summary

Haverhill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center seeks an RN or LPN Night Shift Supervisor to oversee the 11:00 PM–7:00 AM shift. Lead department staff, supervise nursing functions, administer meds, and ensure quality resident care per physician orders. Qualifications

• Current RN or LPN license in MA.
• 1 year of experience as an RN or LPN Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Department Head to train department staff to maintain skill levels and compliance with evolving mandates.
• Lead Nursing Supervisor for department staff on process, supply, and team-related needs, including diffusing difficult situations.
• Promote compliance with facility policies and procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician's orders.
• Transcribe, document, and implement physician's orders.
• Collect data to assist in nursing assessments during each shift.
• Give daily shift reports to CNAs assigned to the unit before the start of the shift.
• Review written daily assignments for each resident on the assigned unit.
• Assure assignments are completed before the end of the shift.
• Give and take nursing reports on assigned units, communicating essential information to appropriate parties.
• Make rounds on assigned residents at least once every two hours.
• Collaborate with the Care Plan Coordinator to develop and maintain nursing care plans and update these plans regularly.
• Attend interdisciplinary resident care conferences as requested.
• Assist the attending physician with rounds and special procedures as needed.
• Participate in yearly evaluations of nursing assistants and document strengths/weaknesses and improvement steps.
• Assist Staff Development with orientation and on-the-job training for new nursing personnel as needed.
• Collaborate with the nursing supervisor in documenting disciplinary concerns for nursing assistants on designated shifts.
• Notify the nursing supervisor, resident's physician, and family of changes in condition or incidents.
• Assume duties assigned by the RN Supervisor/ADNS to ensure optimal resident care.
• Perform other related duties and attend meetings as deemed necessary.

Job Summary:

• Lead Nursing Supervisor for department staff on process, supply, and team-related needs, including tactfully diffusing difficult situations

• Role model for the department by promoting compliance with facility policies and procedures

• Administer medication and treatments according to physician's orders

• Transcribe, document, and implement physician's orders

• Collect data to assist in nursing assessments during each shift

• Collaborate with the nursing supervisor in documenting disciplinary concerns for nursing assistants on designated shifts, including reprimands, oral and written warnings, and corrective action recommendations

• Notify the nursing supervisor, resident's physician, and family of a change in the resident's condition or an accident/incident involving the resident

• Assume any duties assigned by the RN Supervisor/ADNS to provide optimal quality resident care

• Perform other related duties and attend meetings as may be deemed necessary by the Supervisor/Administrator and/or Director

Requirements:

• Current RN or LPN license in MA

• 1 year of experience as an RN or LPN Supervisor

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of nursing policies and procedures

• Ability to lift and move residents as needed
