Job summary

Akron City Hospital, part of Summa Health System, seeks a Nurse Student Tech (NST) for PRN - Med/Surg - Days to support the patient care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role includes direct patient care and essential clerical support to keep unit operations smooth.

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program, have completed the first clinical rotation, and hold a current BLS-HCP card.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program and have completed the first clinical rotation.
• Current BLS-HCP card on hire and maintained thereafter.
• Ability to read and write English, follow written and oral instructions and perform basic mathematical functions.
• Ability to work well within a team environment and support team goals; collaborate with patient care members.
• Ability to be self-directed and take initiative; adapt to changing demands and healthcare targets.
• Able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift/carry as needed to move patients and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supports the patient care team by performing multifunctional activities such as direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides administrative/clerical support to the team as needed.
