Job summary

St. Anthony North Hospital is seeking a Nursing Student Extern to support licensed nurses with delegated tasks and direct patient care under supervision.

You will perform vital signs, blood glucose checks, I&Os, assist with personal care and ADLs, report changes to the RN, and help with unit stocking, cleanliness, and orderliness. You must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program and maintain academic progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of nursing fundamentals and related clinical rotations.
• Active enrollment in an accredited nursing program; status updated each term.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delegated patient care tasks under RN supervision.
• Perform vital signs, blood glucose, intake/output, and basic measurements.
• Assist patients with personal care and ADLs; transport and nutrition support.
• Report patient status changes promptly to the Registered Nurse.
• Document vital signs, intake/output, and other care activities accurately.
• Maintain unit cleanliness, restocking, and overall orderliness.
