Job summary

Yale New Haven Health seeks a Nursing Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse. You will assist with vital signs, treatments, and information collection to help the care team plan and evaluate patient needs.

Role emphasizes patient-family centered care, effective communication, and teamwork. CPR is required; you must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and meet clinical practicum requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required with a current nursing program involvement.
• Enrollment in an accredited School/Department of Nursing program is required.
• Fundamental Nursing skills laboratory completed and at least one clinical practicum.
• CPR certification is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, obtain and report information to assist the nurse in patient assessment, planning and evaluation.
• Obtain and record vital signs as delegated by the RN.
• Perform selected treatments and activities contributing to safe and efficient patient care.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to address patient/family needs and maintain PFCC principles.
