Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a patient care support role under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse and Patient Services Manager. The position involves direct and indirect patient care, including obtaining vital signs, and assisting with ECG monitoring to ensure comprehensive care with PFCC principles.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, emphasizing effective communication with patients, families, and staff, and upholding service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Completed fundamental Nursing skills laboratory and at least one clinical practicum.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, peers and supervisor; CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Clinical Nurse, obtain and report information to assist in assessment, planning and evaluation of patient needs and responses to treatment.
• Obtain and record vital signs as delegated by the RN.
• Assist in care of patients and contribute to safe and efficient delivery of care, including 12-lead ECG and Lead II monitoring.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families and staff; cover BA desk as needed.
