Job summary

Responsibilities include vital signs, ECG, direct patient assistance, and communication with patients and families. CPR certification is required; prior completion of a PCA program is preferred.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED; CNA or other education equivalent.
• Two years of relevant direct patient care experience or equivalent education.
• Complete Patient Care Associate Competency Based Training and Practicum.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, peers, and supervisors; CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of the Clinical Nurse, perform tasks to support patient care and report information for assessment.
• Obtain and record vital signs as directed and perform 12-lead ECG as assigned.
• Assist in direct patient care and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families and staff; cover BA desk when needed.
