Job summary

Johnson County Community College seeks an Adjunct Assistant Nursing Professor for the Health Resource Center. The role supports prelicensure nursing education as part of Academic Affairs, with weekend and evening availability and a typical 30 hours per week over 16 weeks.

Requirements include a Master's in Nursing (BSN considered), Kansas RN license (or multi-state), current BLS, and at least three years of recent nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Active RN license (KS) or a Multi-state RN license.
• Current BLS certification as a healthcare provider.
• Minimum of three years of full-time nursing experience within the last five years.
• Ability to multitask and process multiple information sources quickly.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Staff open lab hours, to include assisting students with psychomotor skills and completing formal skills validations.
• Formal lab set-up and break-down.
• Teaching formal skills labs and assessment labs.
• Inventorying supplies.
• Assisting with lab clean-up/laundry.
• Student remediation for psychomotor skills referrals.
• Grading, including classroom assignments and Tickets to class.
• Formal evaluation of students including proctoring Head to Toe examinations and Skills Check-offs.
