Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a Simulation Technology Specialist I for the School of Nursing's Simulation Program. The role manages high-fidelity manikins, task trainers, audiovisual systems, and related technologies to deliver safe, realistic simulation experiences.

Work with faculty, staff, and students to setup, operate, and troubleshoot simulation environments, and to train users on AV systems and simulation platforms.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience with audiovisual systems and computer networking. Relevant education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
• One (1) year of experience with healthcare simulation equipment. Relevant education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot simulation equipment including manikins, task trainers, and virtual platforms.
• Set up, reset, and maintain simulation environments to reflect clinical scenarios, including props, moulage, and medical supplies.
• Provide technical support before, during, and after simulation sessions.
• Record, edit, and manage audiovisual content using platforms such as SimCapture, B-Line, and other AV systems.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to design, test, and implement technical components of simulation scenarios.
• Train faculty, staff, and students on the use of simulation equipment and audiovisual systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for simulation operations.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and best practices in simulation education.
