Job summary

Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams seeks a Nursing Simulation/SkillsLab Coordinator to lead its BSN program's simulation and nursing skills lab. You will develop, operate, and maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and support faculty and students in achieving learning outcomes.

This role reports to the Associate Dean of Nursing and requires a current MA RN license, at least a bachelor’s degree (master's preferred).

Qualifications

  • Hold a current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree, master's degree preferred.
  • Clinical experience in a specialty field; knowledge and experience in baccalaureate education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, plan, and run simulation and nursing skills events.
  • Prepare, clean, and store all simulation and skills lab equipment and technology.
  • Maintain simulation and skills lab inventory and recommend purchasing.
  • If Simulation Coordinator possesses a master's degree, teaching laboratory courses may be expected.
  • Create an educational environment which fosters innovation, responsiveness, and accountability in the lab and clinical environment.
  • Provide program-specific expertise and is actively engaged in relevant department initiatives.

Job Description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Nursing Simulation/SkillsLab Coordinator works as part of the team in MCLA's Baccalaureateof Science in Nursing (BSN) Program and is an educational andtechnical expert who can develop, operate, maintain, troubleshoot,repair simulation and nursing skills lab equipment. The position works closely with nursing faculty members of theBaccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program, supporting theProgram and curriculum for the BSN major. This essential staffmember is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of thesimulation/nursing skills lab focusing extensively on facilitatingstudent learning outcomes associated with prescribed course andprogram outcomes, implementation of the nursing curriculum, programevaluation and improvement; supports the philosophy of nursingprogram and supports the mission of the College.

DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES


  1. Scheduling, planning, and running simulation and nursing skillsevents.

  2. Preparation, cleaning, and storage of all simulation and skillslab equipment and technology before, during, and after studentlearning events.

  3. Maintaining simulation and skills lab inventory and recommendpurchasing to Associate Dean of Nursing.

  4. If Simulation Coordinator possesses a master's degree, teachinglaboratory courses may be expected.

  5. Create an educational environment which fosters innovation,responsiveness, and accountability in the lab and clinicalenvironment.

  6. Provide program-specific expertise and is actively engaged inrelevant department initiatives.

  7. Serve as a professional role model for students in the lab andclinical environment.


Requirements


  • Hold a current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in goodstanding.

  • Clinical experience in a specialty field; knowledge andexperience in baccalaureate education preferred.


Additional Information

This is a full-time, permanent, 10-month, benefited position withinthe APA bargaining union. Position starts in January 2027. Salaryfor this position is $56,000-$68,000 per year.
