Job summary

The Community College of Rhode Island seeks an experienced professional to manage daily operations of the Simulation labs, provide instruction and evaluation to support simulation-based learning, and collaborate with faculty to align experiences with the nursing curriculum.

You will coordinate simulated activities, lead pre-briefings and debriefings, and help maintain accreditation through SSH while ensuring equitable access across Health Science programs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing.
• Current Rhode Island RN License.
• Ability to achieve Certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) within 6 months.
• Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience and simulation education in higher education.
• Knowledge of higher education Nursing and Health curriculums.
• Demonstrated computer skills (data management and multiple software packages).
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in written communication and experience with students.
• Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision; and with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the college's lead in day to day operations and respond to simulation requests from faculty, staff, and academic partners.
• Provide reports and recommendations to course faculty, Program Directors, Department Chairs and Deans.
• Orient learners to the simulation environment and assist faculty in leading pre-briefing sessions.
• Provide orientation and professional development for staff and faculty related to simulation-based activities.
• Collaborate with faculty to continually develop simulation experiential learning opportunities.
• Utilize ADDIE model in development processes and analyze student learning needs.
• Maintain records of assignments in Sim Chart, Blackboard or other platforms.
• Support accreditation and best practices to ensure high-quality learning experiences.
• Evaluate Simulation Technicians or staff as necessary and reschedule students for additional simulation experiences.
• Organize simulation experiences (pre-briefing, scenario, debriefing) and manage lab time efficiently.
• Maintain SSH accreditation and coordinate lab scheduling to ensure equitable opportunities.
• Coordinate and manage simulation equipment readiness, inventory, budgeting, and interprofessional activities.
• Maintain documentation on program progress and confidentiality as required by FERPA.
