Job summary

The University of Tampa seeks a part-time patient actor for the Nursing Skills and Simulation Laboratory to portray patients in simulated clinical experiences. You will provide feedback to students on competency areas and promote respectful, culturally aware interactions in and out of campus settings.

This role supports the Department of Nursing in the College of Natural and Health Sciences and is on an as-needed basis, with a maximum of 1000 hours per year and up to 20 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Ability to portray a patient under various conditions.
• Ability to provide respectful, comprehensive feedback to students.
• Maintain confidentiality of student performance; no discussing student performance with others.
• Previous acting experience preferred.
• Must maintain anonymity with students on and off campus.
• Knowledge of and ability to learn University software (Workday, MS Office).
• Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.

• Portray patients with a variety of health issues and injuries.
• Provide feedback after simulated experiences to students on demonstrated competencies and areas for improvement.
