Job description

This position is responsible for maintaining a well‑run simulation lab to assure an optimal learning environment for students in our newly renovated space at Plymouth State University. Responsibilities are varied and require high energy and self‑motivation. As a member of the PSU Nursing Team, you will be a member of the Simulation Lab Committee and the Nursing Program Committee. You will collaborate with other programs for inter‑professional lab experiences or lab use. Maintain the lab calendar and work with faculty to design optimal learning strategies for the simulation and skills labs for our undergraduate nursing program.

Responsibilities
Administrative Duties (40%)
  • Scheduling students in the skills and simulation lab.
  • Ensuring that all required student documentation for lab hours is complete.
  • Preparing and updating lab set up sheets yearly.
  • Maintaining the EHR in the simulation lab.
  • Consulting with the clinical course faculty as needed.
  • Attending end‑of‑semester meetings and simulation committee meetings.
  • Assisting the Clinical Placement specialist with BLS and 95% fit testing.
Committee & Curriculum Work (20%)
  • Member of the Simulation Lab Committee and the Nursing Program Committee.
  • Collaborating with other programs for inter‑professional lab experiences or lab use.
  • Maintaining the lab calendar.
  • Working with faculty to design optimal learning strategies for the simulation and skills labs for our undergraduate nursing program.
  • Facilitating faculty orientation to the simulation lab.
Lab Management (40%)
  • Developing dedicated lab time in the Simulation Lab that focuses on student learning.
  • Setting up and breaking down skills and simulation labs.
  • Updating inventory/supplies list.
  • Ordering supplies.
  • Overseeing student workers in the sim lab as they assist with set up and breakdown of the lab space.
Requirements
  • Educational requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and two years of combined experience teaching skills and/or related experience.
  • A Master’s degree is beneficial but not required.
  • Current NH RN license or eligibility is required.
  • Experience with clinical undergraduate nursing education preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills, including expertise in data management and proficiency in multiple software packages.
Licenses & Certifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • BLS/CPR certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience with clinical undergraduate nursing education preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills, including expertise in data management and proficiency in multiple software packages.
  • Willingness to learn new computer programs for the electronic health record and educational components of the program.
