Job summary

optimacare seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing to support the nursing department's philosophy and delivery of care. You will assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care delivery system, with daily rounds and staff development activities.

The role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, coordinating staffing, and acting as a liaison for residents and staff. Previous long-term care and management exposure highly valued.

Qualifications

• RN licensure by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing required.
• At least three years of full-time clinical experience; long-term care and management exposure preferred.
• BSN degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and implementation of nursing philosophy, objectives, policies, and standards.
• Collaborate with Director of Nursing to assess and improve quality of care.
• Oversee orientation for nursing staff in the Director of Staff Development's absence.
• Make daily rounds to evaluate resident care and nursing performance.
• Ensure compliance with legal, safety, health, fire, and sanitation codes.
• Assist with staffing scheduling to maintain safe nursing coverage and par levels.
• Serve as on-call nursing clinical resource as scheduled.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and plans of correction.
• Prepare end-of-month reports for the Director of Nursing.
• Establish and facilitate employer/employee relations.
• Ensure MDS, RAPS, and care plans are timely and compliant.
• Act as liaison for residents, families, visitors, and staff to resolve concerns.
