Job summary

Aperion Care is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to support the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing the daily operations of the nursing department in a long-term care facility.

The role requires coordinating with administrators and medical directors to ensure high-quality resident care, updating policies, managing staffing levels, and guiding the nursing team to meet regulatory standards and resident needs.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state license.
• Must have at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related health care facility.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
• Current CPR Certification is required.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the public.
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, and laws, regulations governing nursing care facilities.
• Must be patient, tactful, cheerful, and enthusiastic.
• Must relate information concerning a resident’s condition.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing daily nursing department functions.
• Participate in developing and updating policies and procedures.
• Ensure nursing staff follow job descriptions and stay current with regulations.
• Schedule rounds and monitor medication passes and treatment schedules.
• Assist in staffing decisions and recruitment for nursing personnel.
• Participate in care planning and discharge planning processes.
• Perform administrative duties and generate reports as needed.
• Ensure confidentiality of resident information and compliance with TB testing.
