Job summary

Southbrooke Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Edna, TX is seeking a full-time RN leader responsible for directing the nursing department in accordance with facility policies and regulations.

You will collaborate with the Director of Nurses, physicians, and families to ensure the highest standard of care, manage staffing, and participate in quality assurance activities. Texas RN licensure and 3+ years SNF experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an RN program at an accredited vocational school, college or university.
• Must possess a current Texas RN Licensure.
• Must have experience working in a skilled nursing facility for at least 3 years.
• Preferred to possess a current RUG certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Nurses in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing day-to-day nursing department functions.
• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of care.
• Communicate with attending physician and medical director regarding resident care as needed.
• Communicate with families regarding resident care issues when appropriate.
• Assist DON in determining staffing needs and participating in recruitment and training of nursing staff.
• Develop work assignments and schedules; supervise staff to ensure tasks are completed.
• Assist in the facility's quality assurance program and serve on the QA Committee.
• Assist with review of resident records, consultant reports, and plans of correction as needed.
• Assist with MDS assessments and care plans as needed; ensure compliance with regulatory reports.
• Participate in the nursing on-call schedule.
