Job summary

SEARHC in Sitka, Alaska is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead nursing services across assigned departments on a 24-hour basis. You will oversee staffing, budgets, policy compliance, and collaboration with education and HR for ongoing staff development.

Responsibilities include directing patient care planning, ensuring regulatory standards (Joint Commission, CMS), and acting as Acting CNO when needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current Alaska RN license.
• BLS; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• 5 years nursing experience preferred; 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
• Clinical competency within 3 months of hire and every 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee budget for departments and staff utilization.
• Coordinate nursing orientation and preceptor evaluation.
• Assign patient care based on requirements and staff qualifications.
• Update staffing standards and policies; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead quality improvement activities and nurse leadership responsibilities.
• Delegate, schedule, and coordinate staffing and supply ordering.
• Act as Acting Chief Nursing Officer in absence of the CNO.
