Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group is seeking a Nursing Technician - Nursing Secretary Float to support clerical and patient care duties across departments. Under close supervision, you will assist with basic care, take vital signs, and help ensure timely patient flow and bed availability.

You will collaborate with RNs and staff, handle lightweight receptionist tasks, and monitor supplies while maintaining accurate records. Prior experience and state certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of related experience.
• Certification required by NC DHHR; Nurse Aide Certification; BLS CPR.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with basic care including bathing, shaving, and taking vital signs.
• Provide meals and supplements and notify RN of any changes in patient condition.
• Assist with admitting, transferring, and discharging patients to ensure beds are available.
• Support RN with hourly rounds and respond to patient needs across units.
• Monitor supplies, equipment, and instruments and request materials as needed.
• Document charges and accommodation codes to ensure accurate records.
• Observe equipment and report maintenance needs to support smooth operations and patient safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
