Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group is seeking a Nursing Technician - Nursing Secretary to support the unit with clerical and receptionist duties while assisting the Registered Nurse with patient care. This role operates under close supervision to provide basic care and effective communication for patients, families, and hospital staff.

Essential tasks include assisting with basic patient care, meals, admissions/discharges, and hourly rounding, while also managing supplies, documentation, and receptionist

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Nurse Aide Certification required by the State of North Carolina DHHR.
• BLS (CPR) certification required by American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with basic care (bathing, shaving, vital signs) to support mobility and recovery.
• Provides meals and supplements to patients and notifies RN of changes.
• Assists with admitting, transferring, and discharging patients to maintain bed availability.
• Supports RN with hourly rounding and responds to patient needs across units.
• Monitors supplies and equipment inventory and requests more materials as needed.
• Documents charges and accommodation codes for accurate record keeping.
