Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group is seeking a Nursing Technician - Nursing Secretary to support the unit with clerical and receptionist tasks while assisting the Registered Nurse with patient care. Working under close supervision, you will provide basic care and communicate with patients, families, and hospital staff.

Duties include helping patients with basic care, taking vital signs, contributing to rounds, managing supplies, documenting charges, and greeting visitors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Nurse Aide Certification required.
• BLS CPR certification required (American Red Cross or AHA).

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with basic care (bathing, grooming) and take vital signs.
• Provide meals and supplements and alert RN to condition changes.
• Assist with admitting, transfer, and discharge to keep beds available.
• Support RN with hourly rounds and patient needs across units.
• Monitor supplies and request materials to ensure daily operations.
• Document charges and accommodation codes for accurate records.
• Observe equipment and report maintenance needs to prevent injury.
• Perform receptionist duties (answering calls, greeting visitors).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
