Job summary

The Nursing Scholar Coordinator at St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System oversees clinical experiences for pre-licensure nursing students, coordinates Clinical Instructors, and liaises between the hospital and affiliated nursing schools to ensure alignment with Georgia BON and accreditation standards.

The role requires independent judgment in coordinating complex scheduling, strong organizational skills, collaborative leadership, and knowledge of Georgia nursing education regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
• MSN with focus in Nursing Education or Leadership preferred.
• Registered Nurse license in state of practice is required.
• National Nursing Certification must be obtained within 6 months of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with hospital leaders, nursing school faculty, and clinical instructors to secure learning environments that meet standards and policies.
• Recruit, orient, support, and evaluate Clinical Instructors per guidelines.
• Coordinate instructor meetings, pre-clinical briefings, professional development, and curriculum alignment.
• Prepare reports, accreditation documentation, and annual development records for instructors and SJ/C Scholars.
• Support nursing education initiatives and participate in hospital committees as assigned.
