Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Nurse Education Specialist to design and evaluate educational programs for nursing personnel, applying adult learning principles and competency tools to improve knowledge and performance.

In collaboration with leadership and regional teams, you will tailor materials to diverse learners, support lifelong learning, and ensure age-appropriate patient care across departments. Travel may be required, with standard office settings.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license issued by the state where the team practices.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Typically 3 years of frontline nursing experience.
• Preferred: PA SANE and AA SANE designations.
• If only one SANE designation is held, the second designation must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• SANE-A or SANE-P may be accepted in lieu of PA or AA designations.
• Excellent written and oral communications, including strong presentation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Support the orientation process by developing, coordinating, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
• Assist with competency management using tools that capture objective and subjective data regarding knowledge and performance.
• Design educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences in consultation with an NPD Specialist.
• Apply best-practice standards, including adult learning principles, in planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating educational activities.
• Provide strategies supporting lifelong learning, role transition, role integration, skill acquisition, and mastery.
• Collaborate with system and operational leadership to meet education needs of the site and nursing departments.
• Adapt materials and teaching strategies to learners' situations, developmental levels, learning needs, readiness, abilities, language preferences, and cultures.
• Use appropriate aids and technologies to meet learner needs.
• Evaluate and analyze the impact of programming on learners, organizational resources, and patient outcomes.
• Establish and implement evaluation tools and methodologies to identify nursing personnel knowledge, skills, and competency gaps.
• Develop and support specialty or department education needs in collaboration with regional and system teams.
• Provide age-appropriate patient care according to department policies and procedures.
• Travel as required and work in a generally normal office environment.
