Job summary

Stark State College in North Canton, Ohio, seeks a Healthcare Career Specialist to bridge education and nursing career pathways. The role partners with Nursing faculty, the NEOWIN project team, Career Services, and other departments to connect students with academic, career, and workforce resources.

This temporary, federal grant-funded position ends June 30, 2028. The ideal candidate will recruit and advise students, coordinate resources, and represent the project at industry events and job

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for student success.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with hospital employers and industry partners.
• Coordinate with Career Services and other college departments to provide career-readiness resources (resume development, interview prep, job-search assistance, counseling, events).
• Recruit, advise, and direct students toward entry points into the nursing field.
• Identify and address barriers to students’ educational and career pathways.
• Report to the grant project director and team; track progress and ensure milestones are met.
