Job summary

John Scott House Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our leadership team, guiding resident care and supporting staff in a five-star CMS-rated facility.

This role emphasizes clinical leadership, staff development, and compliance with state and federal nursing regulations, with a focus on compassionate, high-quality long-term care for residents.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN license required.
• Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support nursing staff on assigned shifts
• Coordinate daily clinical operations and resident care
• Ensure compliance with state and federal nursing regulations
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, and nursing assignments
• Support admissions, discharges, and care planning processes
• Monitor nursing documentation and clinical outcomes
• Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to nursing staff
• Respond to resident, family, and staff concerns professionally and compassionately
• Participate in quality improvement and infection control initiatives
• Serve as a clinical resource and role model for the nursing team
