Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing to support clinical operations under the Director of Nursing and ensure residents receive high-quality care aligned with physician directives and regulatory standards.

The ADON will supervise nursing staff, coordinate medications, develop in-service programs, and participate in daily rounds and interdisciplinary meetings to drive safety, quality, and dignity for all residents.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school and a current state license for LPN or RN is required.
• CPR and BLS certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of person-directed care practices for seniors.
• Experience with preadmission assessments, staff training, and education.
• Basic understanding of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Nursing with standards of nursing practice and assume duties in their absence.
• Oversee medications, treatments, and nursing services per care plans and physician orders.
• Develop and maintain in-service education programs for nursing staff.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor the delivery of nursing care.
• Participate in management planning and policy formation for care and nursing services.
• Assess residents for appropriate levels of care.
• Coordinate work of nursing and care staff and share pertinent health information.
• Supervise medications for residents who self-administer if applicable.
• Complete day-to-day nursing duties on scheduled shifts.
• Oversee pharmacy relations, eMAR accuracy, and timely medication delivery.
• Support overall clinical department supervision and documentation in resident files.
• Attend interdisciplinary care meetings and pursue continuous learning.
