Job summary

The incumbent acts as a change agent, supports major initiatives, and collaborates with physicians and care teams to optimize throughput and patient care delivery. Requires ADN with IL RN licensure, CPR, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• ADN required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• RN licensure in Illinois required.
• Current CPR certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as administrative designee on behalf of hospital administration.
• Responds to urgent administrative needs and investigations.
• Coordinates in emergencies until relieved by senior staff.
• Performs duties requested by the Administrator or Director on call.
• Interprets goals, policies and procedures as needed.
• Provides clinical expertise when necessary (RN transfers, IV starts, assist staff).
• Supports patient/family needs and guides resource use within the center.
• Keeps Chief Nursing Officer and Executives informed of staffing and events.
• Manages patient care staffing on assigned shifts and rounds to assess throughput.
• Communicates staffing and administrative activities with nurse managers and leaders.
• Collaborates to optimize bed availability and patient throughput.
