Job summary

Cedarhurst of Fort Wayne is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support clinical operations and ensure high-quality resident care. You will help lead nursing staff, collaborate across disciplines, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational goals.

The role emphasizes staff development, care planning, and effective communication with residents, families, and the management team, while promoting safety, dignity, and well-being for all residents.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school and current state license (RN or LPN) required.
• At least 3 years of nursing experience preferred.
• CPR and BLS certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of person-centered care, including dementia, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Nursing in defining and maintaining nursing standards and act in their absence.
• Oversee medications, treatments, and nursing services per care plans and physician orders.
• Develop and maintain in-service education programs for nursing staff.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor delivery of nursing care.
• Participate in management team planning, policy formation, and administrative decisions, with focus on care giver and nursing services.
• Assess residents and potential residents for appropriate levels of care.
• Coordinate work of nursing and care staff and communicate health and safety information.
