Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in leading clinical operations. The ADON will oversee nursing and caregiving staff, promote safety and quality, and drive compliance and staff development across the community.

Responsibilities include daily rounds, care planning, staff training, and collaboration with physicians and families to maintain high standards of resident care and satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN or LPN license in good standing.
• 3+ years of nursing experience preferred.
• CPR and BLS certification preferred.
• Knowledgeable about eMAR and medication processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Nursing in defining nursing practice standards.
• Oversee medications, treatments, and nursing services per care plans.
• Develop and maintain in-service education for staff.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor care delivery.
• Participate in management to plan policy and care services.
• Assess residents for appropriate levels of care.
• Manage nursing staff and coordinate care information.
• Supervise self-administration medications when applicable.
• Oversee pharmacy relationships and timely medication delivery.
• Provide interim documentation for resident files and attend meetings.
• Interview, hire, train, supervise, and retain staff.
• Engage to increase occupancy while ensuring resident wellbeing.
