Job summary

Park Ridge Living Center, part of Rochester Regional Health, seeks a part-time Nursing Supervisor to oversee RN/LPN/CNA and secretarial staff, solving problems and coordinating plans of care with the nurse manager and provider. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program required.
• One to three years of nursing experience.
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA) is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees & assures short & long term Nursing Dept. staff schedules per established guidelines.
• Facilitates units in emergency medical assessment & care of residents including interventions, transportation & other resources needed.
• Serves as a clinical resource person to staff in problem solving, assessments, special procedures & clinical skill enhancements.
• Coordinates with the Nursing Staff resident units & admissions dept. the rapid admission of residents including obtaining evaluations as indicated.
• Serves as adjunct to staff development coordinator in promoting planned in services to nursing staff as per master schedule/plan.
• Provides continuity of resident status with hospital supervisory staff, and Nursing Administration.
• Supervises the M.D.R. directing, interacting with residents, families and staff in providing safe, pleasant mealtime and assuring appropriate completion of required records.
• Serves as major facilitator in QA program for Nursing Dept. including completion of assessments of designated audits & resultant actions required.
• In absence of Nurse Manager, provides staff counseling, discipline as per policy.
• Assists with Charge Nurse duties as needed while maintaining overall supervisory responsibility
• Participates in Nursing department and facility QI program
• For PRLC Only: Assists with Charge Nurse duties on alternate floors on weekends while maintaining overall supervisory responsibility on weekends
• For PRLC Only: Evaluates and makes Medicare determinations of any patients readmitted on weekends and attempts to notify families of decisions

Education

Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program

Bachelors preferred

LT PAC nursing experience preferred

One year supervisory experience preferred
