Job summary

AdventHealth Home Health and Hospice Inc is seeking an experienced RN to serve as an orientation and training mentor. You will coach nurses, train new CNAs, and coordinate with managers during orientation and evaluations.

Role requires prior hospice and home health experience, strong EMR skills, and effective communication in English. The position is based in Altamonte Springs, Florida, with travel within the service area and full-time daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Two or more years as an RN with hospice experience.
• Home health or acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, read, write and speak.
• Familiar with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Willing to complete Hospice Orientation and Training.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and training to nurses who need skill development and documentation training.
• Assist in training new certified nursing assistants.
• Communicate regularly with orientee’s manager during orientation and 3-month evaluation.
• Review competency forms with each nurse and ensure requirements are met.

Job Description:

Schedule: Full Time Days Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm or 4 - 10 hour shifts. Possible weekends. Location: Office is in Altamonte Springs but travel within Volusia, Flagler, Seminole, Orange and Osceola. Other duties as assigned. Provides coaching and training to nurses identified as needing additional assistance with skill development and documentation training. Assists in training new certified nursing assistants. Communicates regularly with orientees during the orientation period and 3-month evaluation period, including joint visits. Provides frequent communication and feedback to the orientee’s manager during the orientation and 3-month evaluation periods. Reviews required competency forms with each nurse and preceptor regularly during the orientation period and ensures new staff have satisfactorily completed all requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing and typing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements.
• Knowledge of electronic medical record.
• Ability to follow standard precautions and uses personal protective equipment when indicated.
• Ability to complete Hospice of the Comforter Orientation and Training, as necessary.

Education:

• Associate [Required]
• Bachelor's [Preferred]

Field of Study: In Nursing.

Work Experience:

• 2+ years experience as a registered nurse (RN) including one year of hospice experience [Required]
• Home health and/or acute care nursing experience [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$68,806.40 - $120,723.20
