Job summary

Maricopa County's Correctional Health department seeks a Nursing Manager to provide clinical direction and oversight for health assessments and interventions within the jail system. The role partners with healthcare professionals to deliver world-class patient care, driving operations and staff development.

The position requires 5+ years as an RN, 2+ years in supervisory roles, and an unrestricted AZ RN license.

Qualifications

• Five years of RN experience in a hospital or ambulatory care setting.
• Two years of supervisory/clinical oversight experience.
• A valid, unrestricted RN license issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or a multi-compact state.
• A Bachelor’s of Nursing or higher may substitute for one year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision for 24/7 clinical staff, including timecard approvals and scheduling.
• Maintain NCCHC standards and annual compliance documentation.
• Drive operational improvement with nursing leadership and change management.
• Coach and train nursing staff for growth and development.
• Provide on-site orientation and define job requirements and procedures for new staff.
• Respond to clinical emergencies and provide direction to staff.
• Develop productivity and performance standards for the clinic.
• Assign clinical duties to meet patient care needs.
• Deliver direct clinical care per CHS policies and regulations.
• Develop clinic operating procedures for compliance and efficiency.
• Review nursing documentation and EHR queues to ensure tasks are completed.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are available daily.
• Lead monthly staff meetings and track action items.
• Ensure mandatory training like annual TST is completed on schedule.
• Participate in interviewing and onboarding for vacant positions.
