Job summary

Unitek College of Nursing is seeking an experienced Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our LVN program in a full-time, campus-based role in San Jose, CA. The position covers day shifts, Monday through Friday, with a focus on classroom and clinical instruction and program development.

You will mentor students, review curricula, stay current with nursing practice, and collaborate with the Director to maintain high standards of education and student outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN or LVN with current licensure in the state where teaching occurs.
• Bachelor's degree with 3 years nursing experience or Associate's with 6 years nursing experience; recent bedside experience required.
• Must meet faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
• Current immunizations and BLS certification.
• Ability to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Improve quality of instruction using innovative teaching methodologies and techniques.
• Utilize online activities to enhance course content and student engagement.
• Review and revise syllabi within program guidelines.
• Submit required program reports to the Director promptly.
• Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and clinical documentation.
• Teach courses and clinical rotations at various times and locations as needed.
• Participate in professional development to maintain CE hours and licensure.
• Join committees as assigned and contribute to program goals.
