Job summary

Genesis in Fair Lawn, NJ is offering a Director of Nursing in Training (DON-IT) program designed to grow future clinical leaders. You’ll gain hands-on leadership experience through mentorship and real-world exposure in skilled nursing and long-term care settings.

Rotate through key clinical and operational areas, learn staffing management, survey readiness, quality measures and infection prevention, and lead impactful projects that improve resident care and workforce engagement.

Qualifications

Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN licensure in the state.
BSN is preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

Participate in the Director of Nursing in Training (DON-IT) program focused on leadership, mentorship and real-world clinical exposure.
Rotate through key clinical and operational areas to learn how nursing leadership impacts outcomes.
Develop DON responsibilities including staffing, survey readiness, quality measures and infection prevention.
Lead projects to improve resident care, outcomes, and workforce engagement.
Attend leadership meetings and development workshops to strengthen communication and culture.
Receive mentorship from experienced DONs and leaders.
Complete a capstone project presented to national leadership.
