Job summary

Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, UT seeks a Simulation Technician Specialist to support high-fidelity nursing simulations. You will set up, run, and maintain manikins and equipment, program scenarios, and assist with debriefings for students at all learning levels.

The role requires a 3-days/week schedule (Tue–Thu 7:30 AM–4:30 PM) and involves hands-on lab operations, collaboration with instructors, and ensuring smooth lab functionality. Training is provided in WGU’s lab standards.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with computers (PC or MAC).
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work with a simulation center management application.
• Excellent organizational skills and logical thinking.
• Creativity and flexibility in solving problems.
• Willingness to learn new simulation technologies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and maintain simulation equipment and manikins.
• Program patient scenarios and set up control room for activity.
• Provide pre-briefings and debriefings for students and staff.
• Operate simulation console and AV equipment during scenarios.
• Record simulation activities in the management system.
• Support department meetings and planning for lab space.
