Job summary

Palomar College is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist – Nursing to provide instructional assistance to nursing faculty and students in a complex simulation laboratory environment. The role oversees day-to-day lab activities, ensures safe operation of equipment, and supports instructors in developing and implementing instructional programs.

Responsibilities include tutoring, guiding students, maintaining a clean and safe learning environment, and managing lab inventory and budget.

Qualifications

• Experience providing instructional or tutorial assistance to students in nursing or related nursing work.
• Education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Oversees nursing and simulation labs day-to-day activities; ensures equipment is safe and ready for use.
• Provides tutoring and guidance to students; supports instructors in lab setup and instructional materials.
• Maintains lab safety, inventory, and budget; coordinates supplies and requisitions.
• trains student employees and lab assistants; ensures safety procedures are followed.
• Supports simulation-based instruction and debriefing activities.
