Job summary

Ventura College invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track Instructor positions starting Spring 2027. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive classroom instruction to diverse student populations to help them achieve their academic or vocational goals.

Under the supervision of a dean, instructors will plan courses, assess learning outcomes, advise on programs, and participate in committees, while adhering to district policies and supporting student success and inclusive excellence.

Qualifications

• Master's in Nursing is required.
• Current California RN License required.
• All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university. Foreign transcripts may require evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic instruction through lectures, labs, or performance courses.
• Advise students on programs of study and refer to support services as needed.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Plan and organize instruction according to course outlines and learning outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, and progress; submit data on time.
• Evaluate and select instructional materials in collaboration with faculty.
• Participate in curriculum and program development; update syllabi.
• Revise course content per new theory and industry developments.
• Attend department and district meetings; participate in articulation and matriculation activities.
